23rd August - Vange Marsh

Tried to catch up with the Red-backed Shrike today having read news that it had been sighted during the morning. Unfortunately, despite roughly 12 people pout there looking, there was no sign of the bird.

Mind you, I did come across a magnificent male adder basking in between the rain showers.

Having decided to give up on the Shrike, I spent a few minutes trying to see the Spoonbill.  There were in fact four present and for once they were all out feeding and flying around the lagoon instead of being asleep!
A few images are in the gallery.  Not the best as due to the distance, the frames have had to be cropped.
