Tried to catch up with the Red-backed Shrike today having read news that it had been sighted during the morning. Unfortunately, despite roughly 12 people pout there looking, there was no sign of the bird. Mind you, I did come across a magnificent male adder basking in between the rain showers. Having decided to give up on the Shrike, I spent a few minutes trying to see the Spoonbill. There were in fact four present and for once they were all out feeding and flying around the lagoon instead of being asleep!A few images are in the gallery. Not the best as due to the distance, the frames have had to be cropped.

Shame you missed the red-backed shrike, it was always elusive and not seen after 10 am yesterday (Monday) morning. Your spoonbill images are very good, I know these birds can be distant for photography purposes, but you did an excellent job.
Hi Alan - I must get out of the County more often for you guys! That's the Woodchat Shrike and now this I've missed - but heyho, I did see a Dipper whilst up in Derbyshire ;-)
