Greetings

Well that’s another week over and done with, and what a week !  It has been cold, sunny wet, windy, wild.  All the seasons in one week.

We have now made a waymarked trail to the roosting long eared owl.  Ask at reception for directions to see this spectacular bird.  However, the ground is sloppy in places, so wellies are advised.

With the wind, other birds have been hunkered down or have been catapulted to Norway !!

I want to share something very special with you:  that’s is 1 day and 1 hide. I spent Wednesday working in the Wildlife Watchpoint hide. The weather was wild and unforgiving but the bird life did not disappoint with sparrowhawk, marsh harrier, kestrel, kingfisher, little egret, and merlin. There was also few mallard, teal, goldfinch, greenfinch, blue tits, great tits, tree sparrows and a robin. It just shows how a short period of time in one hide can produce 14 interesting species even on the wildest of days.

Until next week, take care, and keep wildlife watching.
