After discovering that my last blog was edited in case it caused offence, I will of course absolutely ensure that this blog does not offend anyone in any way what so ever. After all, everything is nice and lovely.

But this leaves me with a dilemma. I was going to write about the hordes of red admiral butterflies visiting the pollinator garden. But if I do, I run the risk of offending those of you out there who have a dislike of butterflies. I’m sure there are some of you who are disgusted by the little fluttery things spoiling the view of those lovely little flowers with their gaudy coloured wings and obnoxious looking probosci. I’m taking literary liberty here by assuming that the plural of proboscis is probosci. Obviously, I am sorry if this has caused anyone offence.

This photograph of red admiral butterflies in the pollinator garden is not meant to offend anyone even by a tiny amount.

And then there is the name red admiral. What about those of you out there who have a dislike of anything nautical ? Personally I have a fear of sharks, mainly because you can’t run away from them. Although I accept that it is also difficult to run away from a lion, and many other animals found in far away countries.   Unless you build a strong shed near where the lions hang out. I seem to have gone off on a tangent there.   Sorry for those of you who can’t abide mathematics. Come to think of it, I have a strong dislike of mathematics, so now I’ve offended myself !

And then there is the whole red and communist thing ? Should I instead write about the migrant hawker dragonflies on the watchpoint track. Ooops: migrants and hawkers - Looks like a tabloid front page. What about the little grebe at the watchpoint hide ? Oh no:   dimensionally challenged birds !

Will I ever manage to not cause offence ?

Will I be allowed to write a blog ever again ?

I think I’ll go and look at the butterflies. After all, as I said last time, nature is therapeutic and a tonic for this modern world.
