Well - when I say pull, I should explain!
We have had our resident elves (John and Mike) working on building a special Saltholme Sleigh for Santa, and this is the centerpiece for our "Flying home for Christmas" event on December 3rd and 4th and yes its pulled by geese (not exactly the feathered variety). Wrap up warm, grab your wellies and join us for a fantastic weekend of festive fun to help celebrate this wonderful time of year.
You'll be able to jump aboard the Saltholme Christmas Sleigh and imagine a magical ride around the reserve as you fly home for Christmas with the migrating birds on our special trail.
Wander around the walkways of the reserve and discover the winter wildlife which calls Saltholme home. You’ll see it’s not just a man in a red suit that visits us from Scandinavia at this time of year! From waders to wildfowl, keep your eyes peeled for golden plovers, curlews, shovelers and gadwalls as they roost and feed across the grasslands and pools of the reserve.
Take shelter from the weather in our cosy visitor centre and discover your artistic side as you change pine cones into your own Christmas tree decorations and badges.
As always our cafe will be serving up a whole host of delicious treats so you can relax with a freshly brewed coffee and enjoy the fabulous panoramic view over our wintery lake.
Family tickets (2 adults and 3 children) for the Flying Home for Christmas event is just £10 for non-members and £5 for members - a trip to Saltholme is excellent value for families.
Christmas is a time for family, friends and fun festivities so visit Saltholme this winter and make some extra special Christmas memories.
