Since the RSPB acquired Dormans Pool a lot of work has been done. Car parking has been improved and the path to the hide upgraded. And new signs - not an easy task with the hard ground composed of industrial slag but the volunteers on the work parties are fit for a challenge!
Over the last few days the reeds between the hide and the pool have been cut by a contractor with his tractor (thanks Keith) although assistant warden Ed has had us, his volunteer workers, cut the reeds close to the fence by hand. And the result...
A clear view of the mud with a wonderful display of feeding waders; Snipe, Black-tailed Godwit, Dunlin. The land is to be grazed by cattle to keep this view open.
Access is by the private road off the A178 so is available to Teesmouth Bird Club and RSPB mambers only.
