By no means is this technically a good photo compared to others you see here on the forum, but I just wanted to show anyone reading this what you can do by simply placing the lens of your compact camera up against the eyepiece of a telescope.
This was a male sparrowhawk sitting in a tree straight across from the kingfisher hide on the afternoon of 14/01/02.
There is some vignetting (shading) but it's good enough to share amongst your friends.
So go on, give it a go!
Good one Andy. You have more success than I do when I try that. It reminds me of Keith's sparrowhawk photo which is framed in the Rye Meads classrooms/coffee rooms, which looks more like a painting than a photo. Check it out next time you're on the reserve.
Nice pictures Andy! It's a good tip for everyone - give it a go everyone!
