We had a lovely trip to Rye Meads Wednesday. We're very new to birdwatching, and have an entire bookshelf of new shiny bird books, but we still couldn't work out who this little warbler was! Our best guess was a reed warbler, can anyone help?!
Dear littlemoocow,
I hope your enjoyed your visit the other day! Great pictures!I agree with you - reed warbler! If you would like to find out a bit more about the warbler (and other birds too) we will have lots of walks throughout the year - the Twilight Tour might be of interest, enjoy a stroll with a guide.
The common two warbler are the reed and sedge warbler. They sounds similar, but the sedge has a very distinct white eye stripe!

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!Louise
Thanks Louise!
Credit to my other half for the photos. There were quite a few to choose from - he managed to take 500 pics that day!
The Twilight Tour sounds great, where can we find info?
Sam
Morning Sam!
I hope you are well.
Tell your other half the photos are great! I always find warblers are awkward to take pictures of! Wow 500 pictures? It's easily done!
The Twilight Tour details are on the website www.rspb.org.uk/ryemeads and then click on events. It's on Saturday 4 June from 7-9 pm.
