Nice article about Rye Meads and its involvement with schools in the latest RSPB Bird magazine. Even thought I may have recognised a certain blogger. Well done to all concerned.
Dear Jeff,
The article is lovely isn't it! Getting children out of the classroom is so important, you really see the difference.
There are quite a few picture of Rye Meads in the article - on the first page of the article ther are 4 pictures of us (top left, top right of a family walking, and the two middle pictures of the bottom row one of a child holding a bug box with a lesser stag beetle in it and one of the Rye Meads' Field Teachers pointing out birds to two teenage girls)! Yay! You are quite correct you did spot a certain Rye Meads blogger (woohoo fame at last!), there is also a comment about me manically dancing round like a crazy person... how embarrasing!
It is a great article, alot of children don't get the change to get out and experience nature.
There are some great stories, have a look on the RSPB website:http://www.rspb.org.uk/news/details.aspx?id=tcm:9-248734http://www.rspb.org.uk/news/details.aspx?id=tcm:9-259693
