Any comments as to how active the kingfishers are now ? I might be able to get over for a quick lunchtime visit this week, but I won't if they are not that active. My last 2 hour visit to the hide was a non-event
The kingfishers are very active! I don't know when you last came down but they are busy feeding their third brood which is the best time to see them. Not only that but they have been checking out nest holes again already and mating. I would advise you visit before the youngsters fledge in about a week though as then they may not be as visible.

I did visit and thanks for the info - they were very active, the pair came and went about 5 times in 2 1/2 hours although the female only showed once. Clearly feeding the young in the first hole, and clearing out another on the far end, middle row.
