What a beautiful day, the reserve looks wonderful especially the sun shining on the reeds and willows - lots of visitors out enjoying the reserve Water levels are a little lower and there is lots of work going on around the reserve, getting ready for the spring Draper Hide was a little quiet, still a lovely Little Grebe spotted close to the hide usually still which allowed a good view Gadwall Hide Teal - Shoveler - Gadwall - Tufted Duck Black Headed Gulls Pied Wagtail - Snipe - Swan Heron - Cormorant - 3 Shelduck Canada Goose Good numbers of Lapwing difficult to count as they were very restless and kept flying up, did not see anything that was causing this however Trails Very busy lots of small flocks Blue tits - Great Tits - Robins Cettis were very vocal heard all over the reserve, was hoping to get a glimpse but no luck Kestrel hovering low over the car park area (another visitor also saw a Grey Wagtail) Kingfisher Hide again seemed quiet here but with patience there was alot to see mixed flocks again - blue tits plucking at the top of the rushes Goldfinch - Redwing - and a lovely view of a female Bullfinch on the brambles - Starlings also congregating on the pylon A Cup of tea back at the visitor center watching the feeders also saw Chaffinch - Dunnock Pheasant Lots of Blue tits Great tits and Robins and a Great spotted Woodpecker
