Took a window of opportunity to visit the reserve in between the downpours of the last few days It was lovely to get out and see what is about There is a lot of water about and the HMWT meadow is very wet, but the birds are making the most of it with Black headed gulls - Swan - Mallard and Shoveler seen DRAPER HIDE Coot - Moorhen - Shoveler- Gadwall And a very strange site of a Snipe in a tree by the side of the hide it did'nt stay long but gave us some great close up views New GADWALL HIDE Swan - Shoveler- Teal - Gadwall Coot - Moorhen - Cormorant Black headed gull- Herring gull Good numbers of Lapwing Pied Wagtail - Goldfinch Trails Goldfinch - Robin - Blue tit - Great tit Fieldfare - Dunnock also seen Pochard - Heron and Female Bullfinch on the brambles by the five bar gate, which was lovely to see there was also plenty of birds enjoying the feeders at the visitor centre
