Lovely day on the reserve so much to see Draper hide Gadwall- Heron- Little Grebe- Swan with cynets another visitor reported two Kingfisher flying through and a Little Egret Tern Hide Gadwall- Shoveler- Little Grebe- Teal Heron- Cormorant- Swan Gadwall- Coot- Moorhen I counted 60 + snipe but they were all over the lagoon so an under estimate for sure (See previous post for more accurate number) 20+ Lapwing 7 Widgeon 3 Green Sandpipers Water Rail Black Headed Gull- Lesser Black Backed Gull Trails Great Tit - Blue Tit - Dunnock - Robin Kingfisher Hide Heron Gadwll No sign of the Kingfisher though several mixed flocks including warblers Blackcaps Blue Tits Great Tits and Long tailed Tits From the Warbler Hide i was treated to a nice view of a Hobby taking advantage of the abundance of flying insects that were around in the afternoon Butterflies still around included small white and speckled wood Large numbers of Dragonflies about as well -on the boardwalks there were several Common Darters sunning themselves on the handrails allowing great close ups views also Seen Emperor Dragonflies and Common Hawkers
