Sunday afternoon: Marsh Harrier, Sandpipers and Kingfisher

No better place to spend a Sunday afternoon than leisurely amble through Rye Meads!

4 Green Sandpipers from Drapers Hide

Saw the striking female Marsh Harrier giving the lagoon in front of Tern Hide the once over at about 4:15 pm. Her pale head looked golden in the sunlight.

No Kingfisher activity from Kingfisher hide , but OK with that as had a close up view of a male earlier - also from the Tern hide.

Carried on through one way turnstile. Sorry to see  that the Water Vole Hide is gone. If it is not to be replaced , is there any chance of at least putting in a raised decking area to maintain the view over the  meadow?

Green woodpecker on dead trees near toll road.

Sedge Warbler the only warbler I heard singing.

All in all a very satisfactory 2 1/2 hours!
