What a beautiful day on the reserve
lovely weather and the hides were nice and cool with a bit of a breeze blowing through perfect
Kingfishers were busy today bringing small fish in at regular intervals sometimes 10 - 15 minutes , other times up to 30-40 mins still lots
of activity
On Wednesday from the hide the Kingfisher seemed put off going into the nest by a Heron - who at one point was swimming around -and upsetting the Coot family, the adult Coot was doing its best the put the Heron off, with some fascinating defensive behavior the Heron eventually caught a Carp and took it up on top of the Kingfisher bank to eat , some of the visitors caught the action on camera as well as getting fabulous shots of the Kingfisher as it stayed on the posts in front of the hide for longer than usual
The three Kestrel chicks were showing well leaning out of the box showing a lot of interest in their surroundings and giving all the visitors some lovely views
