  • I'm glad you all enjoyed it! I have passed your comments on to the volunteers who wrote the newsletter!

  • Hi Louise

Excellent first newsletter! Well done to all who've obviously put a lot of time and effort into producing it for us all to enjoy.

I shall be coming to Rye Meads again very soon. Can't wait! Apart from the kingfisher, I do hope I get to see (or at least hear), the Cuckoo.

Recently I saw Sedge Warblers and Blackcaps at Lochwinnoch Reserve in Central Scotland. Also, saw my first Whitethroat of the year yesterday, at Fairburn Ings, in Yorkshire. Also, it was also lovely to get a long viewing of a Jay, as I hadn't seen one for quite some time. It really gave me time to appreciate the beauty of this bird.

    See you soon

  • Great first newsletter. I was at Ryehouse today, and its been 10 almost to the day years since I was first there, Ive always been a fan of kingfishers, but had never seen one until the RSPB mag did a story about Ryehouse, and that was it, it didn't bother me that I had to drive 100 miles from Brighton, I had to see the kingfishers.

I got a good view today of the male/female change over today, and will be back next year ( maybe a few weeks later) to see the chicks hatch

Keep up the great work everyone does at Ryehouse.
