Sorry for the late post but just a quick blog about some things that are on during the rest of this week!

  • 1: Please spread the word about the Autumn Fair this Sunday 10 September. Weather is looking ok and we have nearly 30 stalls for you to visit and help support the RSPB.
  • 2: Jo Collins has her exhibition up in the Purfleet Hide this week and it is fab so a visit pre-fair is a must
  • 3: There are still tickets available for the raffle to win either of Susan Clare's amazing Lapwing paintings that she painted on the reserve in the spring. Tickets at £5 each from reception between now and the draw at 3pm on the day of the fair. All proceeds to to the RSPB.
  • 4: Tomorrow is the official Wednesday Walk with Sam Shippey so if you are feeling lively tomorrow morning get down to the reserve for 0930 for an enlightening walk around the reserve...
  • 5: Friday sees the official Beginners Birdwatch which will be taken by Bill Stallard or Patrick Hart - sorry but not sure which one!
  • 6: Friday is also the last Late Night Opening of the year and we shall be staying open till about 2300 once again. Cafe will be running as will the moth traps from about 2000. There is no official bat walk (wasn't last Friday night superb??!) but a non-cafe Caroline will hopefully be around to take you out for some batty exploration..

oh and few birdy bits from today too!
