Catering Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and highly organised individual to take on the role of Catering Manager at our Rainham Marshes nature reserve.

You will be responsible for delivering the café's menu offer and driving income to support our conservation work. You will work with an assistant manager, and a team of catering assistants and volunteers, and our national catering development team.

Excellent staff management and organisational skills will be required to manage the weekly rota effectively. You will have a keen eye for managing budgets and costs when discussing contracts with suppliers, and you will understand how to manage costs and margins to maintain profit.

Working as part of the catering team, we need someone who is enthusiastic and hard working, and is determined to make a success of the catering operation.

The café is located in our award winning visitor centre, which has stunning views across the marshes and the River Thames, and attracts 80,000 visitors a year.

This role is full time and will involve weekend and some evening working, so some flexibility will be needed.

This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.

Salary starting at

£19,602 to £21,236 per annum. Applicants should expect under normal circumstances to receive an offer at the bottom of the advertised range
