Morning all
As of today I will regulalrly be shining a light on our fabulous volunteers and putting one of them in the limelight.
The reserve (and the RSPB as a whole) would not be what it is without them!
We shall start with inimitable Roger Smith...
Roger has been a stalwert of the the volunteer team for six years now and started off by assisting the reserve team out on the marsh with weekly maintenance tasks and was part of the intrpid team that built and painted the exstensive wooded boardwalks in all weathers.
He still helps out with the warden team and helps run team challange days when we get free help from the likes of HSBC and Goldman Sachs. Now Roger oversees the sort of work that he did all those years ago!
Of late Roger is more often to be found on Wednesdays helping out Maggie and her crew in the cafe where, lets just say, his talents for levity are much appreciated!
