It was another week of big white flappy things out on the marsh and We were graced once again by the presence of a White Stork.  It was first seen in flight on Wednesday but has since then been wandering around on Wenning marsh munching of frogs and anything else vaguely edible.

This one appears to be unrung but in theory could still be a Knepp project bird. Whereever it comes from it is still a delight to see such an imposiing bird ou of the marsh and very much making itself feel at home.

White Stork - Sam Porter

At least two Spoonbills have been around again with an immature and adult being seen. Sometimes one would be visible in the same view as the Stork!  If you were really lucky and scanned around then the Great White Egret could also be found although sometimes only its head would appear from deep in a ditch!  Throw in a dozen or so LIttle Egrets and the white herony bird theme was complete.
