With Marsh Frogs still being seen in the generally mild south-westerly conditions, it is not surprising that Grass Snakes are also still on the prowl looking for a few succulent amphibians to prey up to fatten themselves up for the coming hibernation period!
Lee Spence was lucky enough to see this one on the boardwalk one day recently. A most unusual occurrence as I have never seen one do this when they are quite capable (and safer!) going underneath!
... and you can clearly see how the tenacious Duckweed manages to get itself translocated from ditch to ditch!
