Deep in our reedbeds there live more Water Rails tat you caould posibly imagine... Dave Mo has 12 the other morning on an early circuit but I wonder how many more of this largely crepuscular Moorehen cousin there are out there?

The same number of Cetti's Warblers were also encountered although seeing them is even more troublesome and more often than not all you get is an explosive burst of shouty song or a series of loud 'tchick' cals like a mega Wren.

Bill Crooks got some good shots the other day as one did more than just flit through the reeds like a chestnut Dunnock...

Meanwhile up above Blue Tits (but no Pendulines yet) pull at the Reedmace heads in search of tiny moth grubs and other invertebrates.

Reed Buntings and Stonechats are also similarly visible in the beds at the moment with the former after seeds and the latter bugs...

Great shots to finish up by Russ Sherriff...
