You would not have thought that the weather could have got any worse this morning but a ferocious squall came through at about 12 and literaly shook the building, so much so that the class room partition pinged open... not funny at all!

The sole birder out on site made it back safely and then the rest of theday was taken out of our hands by the Water Board who came in to say that they had to mend a nearby burst main and would be shutting off our water for the rest of the day.  No water = no toilets, no cafe and a closed reserve I'm afraid.

Hopefully we shall be calmer and re-connected by tomorrow morning.

Have just got back from locking up the hides... bit damp and of course now we have glorious blue skies...

Saw two Turnstone, Stonechat, Golden plover and at long last some gulls and water on the Target Pools so hopefully we shall find something tomorrow. Lots of tits in the woodland on the feeders and Bullfinch and Chiffchaff were both heard.

See you all tomorrow!
