Our female Kestrel is still holding court out on the marsh and on this occasion she caught a young Water Vole and proceeded to consume it on the path just a few feet in front of very appreciative Jerry Hoare. Her foot seems to have recovered for sure as there is no way she could have tackled such a prize...

She certainly is fastly becoming a Rainham Star. I watched her today have a go at the Woodpigeons at the back of the cordite before tussling with two magpies and seeing them off not finished a Carrion Crow flew in and she saw that off as well. All this was happening whilst I was watching the Barn Owl with a Kingfisher whizzing past in front of me, a Stonechat to my left and a distant Marsh Harrier near the DMZ.
May all your Sandpipers be Curlew.
Excellent footage. Don't think I've seen better. Looks good enough to pull some stills from it! Congratulations Jerry, first class.
make allowance, I'm new in these here parts!
Thanks!
I'm pretty pleased with the video.
As you know, she's pretty tame, so she made it easy. I gradually crept forward until I was no more than 15ft away, and she just kept on eating!
