They often seem to have a distorted lower section to the pupil almost like the yoke of a black egg has been pierced.
So this is the bit where I tell you why?

I honestly do not know and an Internet search found lots of references to other people asking the same question but not one who got given an answer.

I think its because they are alien species from another planet.
They even have gill slits around the neck like a shark.
But probably not..................:)
