A funny old day with the weather but even so quite abit was still seen out on the trails with teh Ravens entertaining us all as soon as Sam Shippey had left for the day and at one stage we even hasd them tussling with the similar sized Egyptian Geese! I can safely say that this is not a species combination I have ever seen before...

From the comfort of my reception desk I managed to see Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Goldcrest down below in the garden and Cetti's Warblers were clearly audible outside. Sam had ten Stonechats o and the Bearded Tits on the circuit and the single Dark-bellied Brent Goose was still out on the marsh.

The 200 strong  flock of Golden Plover and 40 Black-tailed Godwit looked all sparkly when the sun shone and the big male Ruff was with them once again while down on the foreshore the first two Water Pipits of the season were seen alongside 7 Rock Pipits.

And a shot from yesterday of the three Brents with the Egyptian Geese - (Dawn Cowan)
