Oh dear.... not at work again but as I came through the Dartford Tunnel at 0900 on my way to a sunny Suffolk for the day, with the low murky skies, heavy drizzle and easterly wind I did think....mmmm gonna be another good one today...

I was not wrong and the Early Birders came up trumps with no leass than 4 Sabine's Gulls , 7 Little Gull , Arctic Skua, 30 Black Tern, 2 Sandwich Tern , 48 Arctic Tern , 32 Common Tern, Little Tern  and even an adult Gannet!

On top of this there was a good selection of waders again including 2 Turnstone , 10 Sanderling ,  2 Greenshank , 5 Black Tailed Godwit , Knot, 2 Grey Plover , 14 Dunlin , 10 Ringed Plover , 7 Common Sandpiper.

The first-summer Sabine's Gull that lingered in Aveley Bay till mid-morning (Shaun Harvey)

and here it is again by Alan Shearman

My only consolation for yet another mega Rainham day with me absent was that I found a Wryneck while on my travels in Suffolk along with loads of cool insects!
