The weekend was a mixed bag of weather and birds. One of the four Temminck's Stints was seen on Saturday afternoon but not subsequently and Pat Hart managed to get some distant footage on Friday afternoon.

Swifts were superb on Sunday in the blustery conditions with some stunning aerial moves with mouths wide open. The Marsh Harriers were quite visible too (in fact I have seen the male again this morning) and there were reports of the first Shoveler brood, more young Lapwings and Redshanks and the now regularly showy Bearded Tits.

And now the fledged Redshanks are copying the Lapwings and are finding the boardwalk to their liking with Nick getting this atmospheric shot of one on Friday night!  They best watch for the excluded foxes while doing this!
