Well that weekend is upon when all things red white and blue abound and the Union Jack gets proudly flown once again.
Spent part of yesterday (when not watching Marsh Warbler) adorning the visitor centre in enough bunting and appropriately coloured streamers and flags to make sure that we too are celebrating. Anyway, quite a few boats, ships, tugs, yachts, wherries, Thames Barges and other assorted floating vessels headed up the Thames during the course of the morning as the tide came in. Missed the Galleon at about 0830 (as was watching the Marsh Warbler....) but otherwise and excellent show! Shame that the flotilla only comes as far down stream as Tower Bridge on Tuesday but what goes up must come down and I am sure we shall be seeing some more of the 1000 vessels over the coming week.

There's a few shots I captured shots here - secure.flickr.com/.../72157630017126656 which will help name a couple of the above. Did get an image of the galleon, but it was masked from most directions and it was very overcast when I took it.
make allowance, I'm new in these here parts!
Hi Howard,
I was wondering when you were going to post some boat pictures! :)
