On a day when Wellington Bombers cruised over the reserve it was good to see one of our top predators on the prowl in the skies and Les Harrison captured this female Sparrowhawk in full flow as iot zoomed over head on its way to a Starling flock!

  • Hi Howard,

I'd be truly amazed if one Wellington bomber flew over the reserve let alone more than one as I don't believe there are currently any of this type even close to flying. Do you think it might have the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster, the only flying example in Europe (The only other flying one being in Canada). It was doing a display at Damyns Hall on Saturday and Sunday as part of their annual historic WW2 vehicle meeting.

make allowance, I'm new in these here parts!
