Our first Hummingbird Hawkmoth of the season was seen on Friday doing what they do best on the Buddlia in the Cordite.  Chris Norwood got some great shots of this amazing little moth as it necatared feverishly.

To think that this would have come from the continent and flown across the North Sea.  The run of easterly winds that we have had suggested that we might get some of this autumnal migrants and they will always brighten up any walk. 

Just look at that tongue!

There is chance to see this species for a few weeks yet so let's hope for some more continental breezes to waft more tour shores!
