The Fieldfares nearest the centre yesterday morning was really struggling to find food. They have stripped the majority of the remaining rosehips and have been rooting around in the snow for anything edible.
I put out some apples this morning and hopefully these will tide some of them over. Many were just shuffling around with wings drooped and feathers fluffed while other were simply tucking their heads in and having a doze. Always dangerous when it is cold...
Very distinctive Fieldfare poo.....
So please get some apples, pears or even sultanas and rasins and put them out for your thrushes. They need all the help they can get.

Poor things. I've been distracted by the 50 or so Fieldfares in my garden over the past week and they have been feasting and fighting over the apples I've thrown out on the lawn for them. Now the snow has almost gone one is lingering with the apples all to himself!
