"Lefts and rights available Sir....

Many different styles....

Old age cauliflower design a speciality....

Near perfect, immature ears will grow over time....

BOGOF......"

Had a mooch around this afternoon and took some pics of some of the fungi to be found around the centre. Pride of place went to the Jew's Ear that  found growing on the dead elder branches that make up the bird feeding station.

I had no idea where the specific name came from and once again Wikipedia came to my rescue...

Auricularia auricula-judae, known as the Jew's Ear, Jelly Ear or by a number of other  common names, is a species of edible Auriculariales fungus found worldwide. Its specific epithet is derived from the belief that Judas Iscariot hanged himself from an elder tree; the common name "Judas's ear" eventually became "Jew's ear". The fungus can be found throughout the year in temperate regions worldwide, where it grows upon both dead and living wood.

Anatomical perfection... and yes I know that there is also a slug in this picture....

Old ears!

Also came across an Ink Cap of some sort (but not very Shaggy!)

and another smart medium brown one in the Wildlife Garden
