As many of you may have seen on the news this week, there has been a disastrous leak (or release) of an unknown clear oily substance into the Channel with hundreds of seabirds affected. Most are Guillemots.

I was in Dorset all week and helped the Dorest Ranger service to catch four stranded birds along the beautiful beach at Lyme Regis. We managed to keep the gulls from finishing off what the mysterious substance has already started.
