As we saw earlier in the week, many Fieldfare were caught out by the cold weather and struggled to find food. Most of our Lapwings deserted the site and even left the foreshore and may have even headed for the near continent while our Snipe struggled on and relocated to the ice free intertidal zone.

They will all be very grateful of the thaw this week. Sure that the Lapwing numbers will slowly rise again and the Snipe will get trickier to see again!
