As you will no doubt remember, back in late May and early June our Wildlife Pond got vandalised to the extent that we decided not to repair the many punctures just so that it could be damaged and the plants trampled down again.

Today saw the start of the rebirth of the area and with the help of Mark & Terry Hart, Richard Duhrsen, David Blackwell, Ian Bloys and a troop of willing Veolia volunteers we managed to move about five tonnes of top soil into the pond thus creating a huge bog garden. I have already put some damp loving plants in but the area is bigger than you think and more will be required.

It stayed dry all day and I managed to get sunburnt while wearing my fetching chest waders... so sorry to any punters who saw me so interestingly attired today!

Before we started

Half way through

Tonnes later...

Planting up

So far so good....

It even started raining as we finished up and I reckon that we should have extra bonus points in the Love Passage Waders competition if we get a Green Sandpiper on here!

No words needed...

The Team (with mark taking picture) ... and very proud we were too!
