The reserve is crying out for rain with Aveley Pool being the only area still holding onto water and as such the returning passage waders are concentrated there along with a few loafing gulls...
A juvenile Caspian Gull (still quite rae=re in te UK in this plumage) among Black-headed Gulls and a Black-tailed Godwit (Andy Tweed)
Although birds may be a little quiet the insects are still superb with these Hairy legged Mining Bees (Dasypoda hirtirpes) being the highlight today...
