Gatekeeper butterfly by Gareth Hughes

We all know how good it feels to be immersed in nature, mentally and physically but sometimes we forget how lucky we are to be able to do this.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be hosting some wellbeing sessions here at Pulborough Brooks. The sessions are being run by the South Downs National Park Authority in conjunction with ‘Wild Gathering’ and ‘Creative waves’ and are designed to include a range of mindful and creative activities to help people explore their relationship with the natural world.

The first sessions being held are for NHS staff and the staff of other voluntary organisations such as MIND, Alzheimer’s society & West Sussex carers. The later sessions will then be for the clients of these organisations – people who may be living with anxiety, depression or dementia, or be sole carers for family members.

To ensure the groups have a safe and comfortable space to undertake these activities we will be giving them exclusive access to Fattengates courtyard, which means that the courtyard will not be available to visitors on these days.

June : 6 June, 13 June, 19 June, 20 June

July: 5 July, 6 July

We know that Fattengates courtyard is a popular destination on the reserve and we're sorry for any disappointment caused by it being closed of on these dates, however I’m sure you’ll agree that this is a great activity for us to hosting - we want to create a safe space where nature is accessible and inclusive to all.
