We're currently preparing for what we hope will be a busy weekend on Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 October.
Not only do we have our binocular and telescope weekend running with expert help on hand and a great range of equipment to try, but on the Saturday we'll be joined by Mike Dilger! For anyone who isn't familiar with Mike, he is a British ecologist, ornithologist and television presenter who best is known for being the wildlife reporter on the BBC television program The One Show.
A' day out with Mike Dilger' on one of our RSPB nature reserves is the prize for a competition run in one of our fantastic Wildlife Explorer magazines and the winning family have chosen to visit Pulborough Brooks. Whilst Mike will be taking the family round the reserve for a walk during the day he'll be returning to the visitor centre for a chat, question & answer session and book signing in the afternoon (from around 4 pm) - everyone is welcome to come along and say 'hello' and ask any burning wildlife-themed questions they have.
If you fancy a walk then you can follow our self-guided fungi trail through the wooded heath - today's rain should mean that all sorts of weird and wonderful toadstools are popping up from the undergrowth! Be sure to ask in the visitor centre for the best route to follow if you're keen to spot the fungi.

Let's hope there is plenty of wildlife to see! There is no need to book for any of the weekend's activities - just come along and get involved.
