From 3-9 December 2018, we are opening our doors for free to National Lottery players.
We’ll be offering free nature trail entry to National Lottery players during the week of 3-9 December 2018. We are one of hundreds of participating National Lottery-funded visitor attractions across the UK saying ‘thanks’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.
The idea is simple: any visitor who presents a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard to the team at the Visitor Centre between Monday 3 and Sunday 9 December 2018 gets free nature trail entry for up to 2 adults and 3 children in return.
Over the years, thanks to National Lottery players we’ve been able to improve the nature reserve for both wildlife and people in many ways. Grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund helped us to extend the reserve, meaning more land is being managed for nature. A new seasonal wetland discovery trail and ditch dipping platforms were created through the Arun and Rother Connections project and heathland is being restored and reconnected through the Heathlands Reunited partnership.
Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the Heritage Lottery Fund, said: “December is a wonderful time to experience the UK’s rich, diverse and exciting heritage, which has been transformed by more than £7.8bn National Lottery funding since 1994. This is a small gesture of thanks and a way of giving something back to the people who buy tickets.”
