No it's not quite the TV series but if this cold snap continues we could have even more snipe showing really well when they are driven out on view as the water freezes. Just as what happened almost a week to date last year captured in Phil's excellent photograph.

 

'Our' short eared owls continue to thrill with up to three hunting along the river bank below Pulborough village on Friday with good views from Nettley's hide and Hanger view. There is a developing thought among watchers that they may continue down the riverbank later in the afternoon affording even better and closer views from Winpenny hide.

 A marsh harrier stirred things up on the North Brooks after lunch putting some of the 150 or so black tailed godwits to flight.

 

And we didn't mind the cold with close views of this water rail beside Nettley's hide
