If you have hungry birds visiting your garden then you'll be pleased to learn that from 1st October - 20 October we'll be offering a 20% discount on our 12.75 kg sacks of bird feed (with the exception of the premium peanuts).
Out on the reserve at the moment we're seeing large flocks of goldfinches, including many juveniles who have not yet developed those distinctive red and black facial markings.
To tempt goldfinches onto your feeders you could try either nyjer seed or sunflower hearts. Or try something new with our 'favourites blend', a mixture of sunflower hearts, suet and mealworms, which is popular with the tit family, finches, blackbirds and thrushes, sparrows, nuthatches and great spotted woodpeckers.
The shop is open daily from 9.30 am til 5 pm, but remember we're shutting early on Tuesday 06 October for our stock take. The shop and café will be shutting at 3 pm. You'll still have access to the toilets til 5 pm and nature trails open as normal.
