I'm just a little curious whether there will eventually be any bird hides built at Medmerry?
Regards,
Ian.
Hi Ian
The Environment Agency's planning application for the construction of Medmerry back in 2011 said that the scheme reserved the right to seek to put hides or shelters up in the future, but that we would judge the need and possible locations once Medmerry was built and had settled down. If we do decide to add hides or shelters, we will, however, need to submit a new planning application.
We are still very much in that settling down phase, and we always have to be very careful when putting structures in remote locations like Medmerry, but I'm certainly interested to hear your views.
Best wishes
Adrian Thomas

I think it would be a very good idea, to have hides built at Medmerry, as that would mean the public could get close up views of all the birdlife without disturbing the birds.
