Sadly, some smew have moved off, though there are still a few, including one or two males around, in the same lakes as earlier mentioned. Lots of other ducks too, pochards and tufted ducks can be seen at short range and wigeon are widespread. Barleycroft Lake is also good for wildfowl. It is a great tome to watch ducks and grebes displaying, they grey gadwall have a soft cruuk call as the males try to woo the females. Sit quietly and watch the action......
