Kirsty enthralled us all with tales of wonderous record breaking birds today. It was a glorious day - here are pictures of us chilling in the sun...
...walking like penguins....
...flapping the biggest bird ever to live (what was it called again, Kirsty?)....
... and generally having a giggle....
In other news, we decided to start a very interesting ecological survey of our snails on the lighthouse garden wall:

That's a fantastic experiment, I like the sound of your friend... how sensible!
My experiment (above) didn't really work, mainly because I was lazy and didn't go back and take pictures. However, I have checked them on most days. Today there was one numbered snail left on the wall - number 17 (so not far wrong bubbles...), strangely only about 3 inches away from it's original position - and it was on the move. The rain this morning must have inspired it to explore, find pastures new.
What have I learnt from my experiment? Snails don't move much... except when it rains.
I shall be getting my thinking cap on and thinking of some new snail experiments. Any ideas very welcome.

Yay! I'm glad the snails are getting more attention - have you found out what sort they are? This reminds me of an experiment a friend of mine did with her garden snails (which were eating her lettuce). She put a dot on them and took them to the field - they returned. She put a 'W' on some and took them to the Woods - they ~didn't~ return. She now takes all her snails off to the woods!
Like two golden birds perched on the selfsame tree, intimate friends, the ego and the Self dwell in the same body. The former eats the sweet and sour fruits of the tree of life while the latter looks on in detachment.

My money's on number 18!
