You can find all the recent sightings on the main RSPB Loch of Strathbeg page - but why not use this forum to let us know what you've seen at the reserve. If you've seen something of interest, or got some good counts (especially in bits of the reserve where there's no Wildlife Log book to fill in), then this is the perfect place to let us know.
Don't worry if you're not sure whether something is unusual or not - ask any warden and they'll tell you that they'd rather hear about 1000 common birds rather than risk missing out on the one rare one!

as daylight faded they all lifted up and flew South to Strathbeg for their nightly roost.........IMPRESSIVE !!

A couple of days ago I took this picture of pink-feet feeding in a stubble field North of Strathbeg.
This field is now under 9 inches of snow. The picture below shows geese returning yesterday to Strathbeg early than usual, about 10 am , since their usual feeding site was blanked in snow.
Even these large birds are having it tough.

The snow is clearing from the stubble fields around Fraserburgh. Thankfully the small birds are returning to feed again.
Below are photos taken on Saturday of a reed bunting and a yellow hammer ( I think ?)
Spot on with the ID and very smart birds they are too. Both species can be found on the reserve in large numbers in the winter when the wild bird cover areas provide food for them, and they are sometimes found hanging around under the feeders when times are very tough.
