Dyfi are going to have a nest mic this season : https://www.facebook.com/dyfiospreyproject?ref=ts&fref=ts
*sigh* I had high hopes when i saw a bird fly by for some seconds earlier. perhaps scylla could try to find it in the records? to see if it could have been a (passing?) osprey?
Cats and women will do as they please. Dogs and men should relax and get used to it.
Just home and no Ospreys yet :-(

An osprey seen north of Aberystwyth? Nora??
Could well be, fingers crossed Tiger!
Does any evidence suggest that ospreys might arrive during the night? From migration tracking it is clear that they'll fly all night across the Bay of Biscay, or manage similar feats, but I'm curious whether it is now dark enough that it is highly improbable for Nora to arrive today.
Any thoughts?

I've really tried, ALEX, but I can't find it - can't find a single bird :'(
I'm still downloading the stream, ever hopeful that I'll be aware soon after any bird's arrival because then I should find it.
So hope that is Nora, TIGER :-)

They only fly at night usually when they are over water and have no choice. The one exception to this was when Nimrod chose to fly from France to Morocco in the space of 36 hours.
There is an audio somewhere of Roy Dennis talking about that.

I think that there is a male hen harrier about.
