Dyfi are going to have a nest mic this season : https://www.facebook.com/dyfiospreyproject?ref=ts&fref=ts
Dyfi actually looks very beautiful just now (in a cold sort of way)
Thank you for posting that picture Cirrus - I couldn't understand why it looked nothing like what I was seeing on the webcam - turns out my screen had froze - If you hadn't posted that picture I might have been watching the same image all day LOL

Just a thought. I know they did it in 2010 for their new electricity cable, but I don't know anything like enough to comment on the reasons for their web cam problems. But I had better not go down that route too publicly!

I seem to remember someone who lives near LG explaining last year that the telecom network in the whole area is fairly antiquated, hence they all have slow broadband. So it isn't just a case of improving the connection from LG into the main local system (as, I think, they did at Dyfi): the whole lot needs a major upgrade before there is any point trying to do anything at LG. So essentially they are stuck with it until BT - or whoever - decide that the Strathspey area is important enough for them to bother giving them a decent 21st century communications network :(
Anyway, this is OT for the Dyfi thread. Longing to have a look at the nest - even in the rain - but if I once start, I'll be here for hours, and there's too much to do this morning!
Thanks for that Rachel. Puts things a little more into perspective.

Thank you for the background Rachel.
This is the nest at the moment. At least I assume it is live webcam, and not my broadband, or lack of, giving a still. I can't hear any background noises neither. It looks rather beautiful to me though.
I'm sure it's me, but ....Oh dear....

Hi SheilaFE - You will know if the cam is live, as that perch sways about in the wind. I sat for ages watching a still picture this morning, and only when someone posted a picture did I reaslise.
Ha ha STARLING, for a brief moment I actually saw the perch move and realised I was looking at a frozen picture! Just hope it is our local broadband weekend usage, and that it improved during the weekdays!
Action on the cam. :)
