Shane, if you do go most of the activity this morning was centred at the Dam end. Three people were sitting on a seat on the dam wall, near the large wood which has the hide in it. They would have had great views as would any one who had been in the hide.
Also for those interested this is where one of the Rutland birds,24(10), was seen last year. Details are in the Rutland 'Who's Where' Blog.
