France , Landes : Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 Marais d'Orx (Générique) / Orx (40) 2 Ospreys (Pandion haliaetus) [Yohann Montane ]
Lindylou : Thanks for that, I wonder why these are not getting reported to Birdguides? Sightings are down today so I think we have had nearly all the breeding adults now.
No problem, Alan. I check the local birders' blogs too that I know of in case other sightings sneak through, but am not up on the etiquette of birding to know if reporting to Bird Guides is the done thing.
Now the Easter holidays are over, it could be there are just fewer people able to be out birding, or walking and lucky enough to spot a bird. Seemed to me that the numbers reported dropped a lot from yesterday.
Still hoping one is Nora though.
17/04 13:43 DEVON : Osprey, Wembury [S]
one drifted west over Wembury Point at 11:50
17/04 14:25 SUFFOLK : Osprey, Beccles [S]one at Beccles Marshes late morning
17/04 15:23 WILTSHIRE : Osprey, Chippenham [S]one flew north at 14:55 (14:55)
If Nora could return on the amount of people hoping for her safe return she will. But.... it looks unlikely now.
Sad to think Nora will not return, but for now with every sighting on the South Coast, especially in the Devon Area I have "Hope" I am willing it to be Nora and she is heading up to DYFI.

What !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Emyr said not to worry until Sunday
Up to last year it used to be said that the latest that osprey eggs had been known to be laid in Britain was 22 May.
Last year that became early June

Ems doesn't really know any more than we do, unfortunately. Judging by his post on FB at lunchtime, while he hasn't totally given up on Nora, I think at this point he would welcome any female who showed signs of taking an interest. The bigger question might be whether Monty is ready to welcome any girl who isn't Nora.
