Mims, I found this link to a good photo of White YA under the netting. I think his eyesight is fine, the herbert found the only gap in the netting, between the upright fence and the pond. It's been fixed now.

Click on the photo to enlarge it, and then use the link for "View original image" at the bottom left of the photo.

    Looking smug too.

  • French migration watchpoints :

Pointe de Grave 04.04.2013 2 ospreys over.

That's 5 ospreys in last 2 days. There is a very good chance that these are UK bound.

  • Thanks Alan, I looked on the map for the 3 French watchpoints and I agree these hopefully are UK bound.  I have been checking this thread twice a day :)

  • Thanks Alan for this exciting and encouraging news.

  • I don't have your email Alan so I will post it here and Osprey was seen yesterday (5th) at Weirwood Reservoir, East Sussex, sighting posted on Sussex Ornithological Society website.

In that report Nigel doesn't give a time for his visit which is a shame as there was one mentioned in an earlier report on the site at 16 45 about 5 miles south at Chailey but heading North.

  • Interesting: didn't one of the Rutland sub-adults spend time there last summer?
